Pasta Casalinga
This review is from a trip to Seattle back in September 2019 when my brother and I met up with a friend of ours to attend PAX West. This is a review of Pasta Casalinga, a charming little pasta place tucked away in the famous Pikes Place Market, home of the original Starbucks. While the two of us have visited Pikes Placebefore on multiple occasions, this was our first time trying out this restaurant.
Pasta Casalinga is at the upper level arcade within the market and took a little effort to find. Once we found it though, we were greeted by an intimate café with just a handful of seats and a frequently rotating menu of just four or five dishes With just a few dishes to focus on, the chefs go all out on quality – thinkhomemade fresh pasta and high-quality ingredients. My brother and I were in for a treat.
The first dish that we ordered was the rigatoni with with a San Marzano tomato sauce, topped with a generous serving of fresh mozzarella and extra virgin olive oil.

The pasta was perfectly al denote and flavors were on point. The second dish that we ordered was a fusilli with onion pesto, farmhouse cheese, and spicy peppers.

This was washed down with a generous glass of rose.

While both dishes were cooked perfectly, I preferred the rigatoni, although that might be due to my weakness for the fresh mozzarella in the middle.
With a simple menu focusing on locally sourced ingredients and high-quality, simple dishes, Pasta Casalinga is a must visit the next time you are in Seattle
