The Goodburger
During Singapore’s lockdown in everything but name, Circuit Breaker, many Food and Beverage establishments started offering food delivery to continue their operations effectively. One such establishment is The Goodburger, a 100% vegetarian burger place which serves burgers using the Impossible plant-based patty.
My family and I decided to try this out as a mini-treat to celebrate my graduation from Zoom University. We each got different burgers. My brother got the “Happy Days” (Impossible patty with cheese, onion rings, and smoky BBQ sauce) and my mum decided to get the “One Night In Bangkok” (an impossible burger with aromatic Thai spicy flavours). Feeling extra, I decided to get a double “Black-Tie”: two impossible patties, rocket leaves, and truffle aioli. All three burgers came with a side of fries but sadly no sauce. Thankfully being at home, we were able to raid our pantry for our choice of sauce and pair the burgers with some sparkling wine we had at home.

The Goodburger makes some great plant-based burgers and uses the impossible patties well. Despite the extra time needed for delivery, the burgers arrived hot and fresh. The restaurant, in a brilliant move, took the time to plate the burgers properly and included some “Impossible” flags so patrons could Instagram with ease. I do hope one day to try this place in person where I can get the burger piping hot and fresh off the grill.
